Summer Sorrows, 2023

Mixed media poster design in which I experimented with digital photography, colour halftone filters and a 3D brush I created on Photoshop. Here’s a little text I wrote to express what I felt in the process:

“I miss the summer so much.

And I know I’m literally living through summer, in a great city full of life and plans to do. But I mean I miss the summer that all of those who have grown up near the sea come to love.

Swimming in the pool, having a cold shower and feasting on tortilla while still having your hair wet. Spending the day at the beach, then going for dinner while there’s still sand on your feet. Going for a night walk near the sea and having sticky arms from the humidity. Smelling the salt.

I took this picture two summers ago and I don’t know why I love it, but I do. Those blue tiles from my patio shower remind me of summer like nothing else. But I guess we all have to reinvent core memories as we grow and create our own homes. Maybe somewhere to put new blue tiles. One can only hope.”
